Step 1
Open the GBP in LeadSnap
Click “GBP” in the top navigation bar to enter the Google Business Profile area of LeadSnap.
Then select the GBP you want to configure from the dropdown in the top-left corner. This is the location that will receive automated review responses.
Important: If the location dropdown is blank or empty, no GBPs have been connected to LeadSnap yet. You’ll need to connect a location first — see the Connecting a Google Business Profile guide for instructions. |
Step 2
Go to Review Settings
In the left-hand navigation menu, scroll down until you find “Review Settings” and click on it.
This opens the review auto response configuration page where you’ll set up prompts and choose how LeadSnap handles each star rating.
Step 3
Set a Custom Prompt for Each Star Rating
On the Review Settings page, you’ll see a section with each star rating listed — from 1 star through 5 stars. Each one has its own Set Prompt button.
Click Set Prompt next to each star rating and write a prompt that tells the AI how you want it to respond to reviews with that rating. For example:
5-star reviews: Prompt the AI to thank the customer enthusiastically and invite them back.
4-star reviews: Prompt the AI to express appreciation and highlight something positive about the business.
3-star reviews: Prompt the AI to acknowledge the feedback and ask how the business can improve.
2-star reviews: Prompt the AI to apologize and offer to make things right.
1-star reviews: Prompt the AI to apologize, show empathy, and offer to resolve the issue offline.
Tip: Take time to customize each star rating’s prompt individually. A response to a 5-star review should sound very different from a response to a 1-star review. |
Step 4
Choose a Response Mode for Each Star Rating
After setting your prompts, choose how LeadSnap handles the AI-generated response for each star rating. There are three options:
Mode | What It Does |
AI Fully Automated | Generates the response and publishes it to Google immediately — no manual review required. Best for star ratings where you’re confident in your prompt and want responses to go out quickly. |
AI Approval Required | Generates the response but saves it as a draft. The draft appears on the All Reviews page where you can review it, make edits, and approve it before publishing. Gives you full control while still saving time on writing. |
Do Nothing | No response is generated or published for reviews with this star rating. Use this for ratings where you prefer to respond manually or not at all. |
Tip: You can mix and match modes across star ratings. For example, you might fully automate 4- and 5-star responses, require approval for 3-star reviews, and set 1- and 2-star reviews to “Do Nothing” so you can handle those personally. |
Step 5
Save Your Settings
Once you’ve set your prompts and chosen a response mode for each star rating, your configuration is complete. LeadSnap will begin handling new reviews according to your settings as they come in.
Tip: You can return to Review Settings at any time to update your prompts or change the response mode for any star rating. |
