Step 1
Navigate to Phone Numbers
Click "Phone" in the top navigation bar. Once inside the Phone section, click "Numbers" in the left-hand navigation. This opens the Phone Numbers page where all of your purchased numbers are managed.
Step 2
Click + Number
In the top-right corner of the Phone Numbers page, click the "+ Number" button. This opens the number search and purchase screen.
Step 3
Search for a Number
Start by selecting your country code. Then click "Advanced Search" to refine your options. Advanced Search allows you to filter by:
Option | Description |
Number Type | Choose between a local number or a toll-free number |
Capabilities | Select Voice, SMS, or both |
Search By | Enter an area code, city name, or state to find numbers in a specific area |
You can also search by digits or words if you're looking for a number with a specific pattern.
Step 4
Buy Your Number
After applying your search filters, a list of available numbers will appear below. Find the number you want and click the "Buy" button next to it.
Step 5
Assign the number to a company and set the forwarding number
After purchasing, you'll land on a configuration screen where you will need to assign to an existing company or create a new company as well as provide a number where the call will be forwarded to when this new tracking number is called.
Step 6
Configure Your Number Settings
After purchasing, you'll land on a configuration screen with four toggle switches and a Caller ID option.
Toggle Switches
Setting | What It Does |
Call Whisper | Plays a short audio message to you before the call connects. When enabled, you can type in the whisper text. |
Call Recording | Automatically records all incoming calls on this number. |
Call Flow | Routes calls through a custom call flow you build. See the Call Flow guide for setup instructions. |
Call Greeting | Plays a greeting to the caller when they call in. When enabled, you can type in the greeting text. |
Caller ID
Choose how the number displays on your phone when a call comes in — either show the caller's number, or show the tracking number itself.
|
|
Tip: If you want to know which tracking number a call is coming from at a glance, set Caller ID to show the tracking number rather than the caller's number. |
|
Once your settings are configured, you'll be routed back to the all Numbers page. For further call routing configuration, see the Call Flow guide.
